KEARNY, NJ - The State of New Jersey must move more than 150 sex offenders out of the county correctional facility in Kearny to a new location, an appellate court said on Monday.
The court ruled that the violent predators, who have remained there under "emergency powers" invoked by former governor Christie Whitman, could no longer be kept at the Hackensack Avenue facility on the basis of an "emergency". |
