According to an independently verifiable leak on the No Man's Sky subreddit, Update 1.3 might also be adding some kind of multiplayer to the sprawling space exploration game.

It's finally here! Committed No Man's Sky players have been on the edge of their seats eager to see what Hello Games might put out for its next major update. There are also newly structured missions that offer subtle tasks the player can opt to perform, such as combat missions, delivery missions, and shipwreck salvage projects.

Travel is getting a bit of an overhaul as well. On top of that, "Atlas Rising" will include 30 hours of new story content, a new quest system, a terrain manipulator and a galaxy map overhaul, as well as twice the lore and interactions of the existing game. There will also be new flight options, including low altitude flight options and new weapons. And with the Atlas Rises update...well, they may succeed.

Hello Games's notorious and controversial exploration game, No Man's Sky, has released a massive update on the anniversary of their release date.

When No Man's Sky first released, I wasn't really sure what it was, or what it was trying to be, but I found a way to have fun with it. Biomes have been made more diverse as well, so that you'll see a lot of variety on planets.

The next important part of the update, is the much asked after multiplayer.

KitGuru Says: This update for No Man's Sky sounds huge but obviously, this studio has over promised and under delivered in the past so many will remain sceptical until the proof is shown.

To be precise, up to 16 players can see and communicate with each other as floating sparkly orbs (it's nearly reminiscent of what happens when you die in World of Warcraft).

Analyze resources before harvesting for to gain alternative resources from mining.

It's not exactly what most people imagine when they picture multiplayer, but players are pretty excited nonetheless. Ship maneuverability has been improved, bringing more skill to dog-fighting abd devastating rockets can be equipped to ships and upgraded for even greater firepower.

Space combat mechanics have been improved to make fighting in space more compelling.

If you come across another player when exploring in No Man's Sky, you won't be able to see their own universe or their interaction with the world as shared on reddit.

Whether you choose to fight, trade or explore, every decision you make has consequences, shaping your journey as you travel ever deeper into No Man's Sky.
