Ubisoft has today announced that its close-combat fighter, For Honor, will be available to play for free on PS4 this weekend.

In fact, those on PlayStation 4 and Uplay members can already pre-load the game right now.

Ubisoft noted that the game will be heavily discounted during this time, should players get enamoured with the trial and want to continue playing this genre-blending mix of fighting game and brawler.

Earlier this year Ubisoft launched its new gritty medieval multiplayer game that required you to use your skills with a sword or a spear to dominate your rivals.

Besides the free trial, the creators have also announced that For Honor will be available to buy at half the price at the time.

The free trial will include the entire game so expect a hefty download.

Ubisoft shared the news via a post on the PlayStation Blog, detailing that the For Honor free weekend will take place august 10 - 13. Preloading will begin on August 8, and any progress earned during the free period will carry over to the full game if you decide to pick it up.

The trial kicks off on Thursday, August 10 and goes on until Sunday, August 13. This will add two new heroes, new maps, changes to the game's balance and much more.
