Elon Musk admits to 'unrelenting stress,' says he may be bipolar

A new study from Bernstein Research, helmed by A.M. Sacconaghi, Jr., and Max Warburton, polled 286 Tesla owners on a variety of things from brand enjoyment to service experiences, even touching briefly on the Model 3.

Tesla CTO JB Straubel, who also leads battery technology at the company, confirmed that Model 3 battery cell production started in June and the company aims to reach an annual production rate of 35 GWh next year.

Those investors who have bought into Tesla's long-term plan have largely ignored the massive losses the vehicle maker has posted almost every quarter, indicating that CEO Elon Musk likely has a very long rope courtesy of his investment base to do what needs to be done to create maximum long-term profitability.

Kurt Kelty, Tesla's battery tech director, has left the company as the company enters "production hell" for the Model 3.

To a question asking Musk if he was bipolar, the CEO of Tesla replied, "Yeah".

One month ago, Tesla announced that its second-quarter deliveries climbed 53% but were at the low end of expectations.

"We're designing the Model 3 to ideally not require service".

Now loss-making Tesla is trying to move into a different league, building vehicles in high volume for customers able to pay only a few thousand dollars more than the average price of a conventional auto or truck sold in the US.

The Tesla Model 3 is minimalistic, but complete.

Later that year the Dual-Motor All Wheel Drive Model 3 will begin to be shipped.

An ample supply of battery packs will be crucial as Tesla goes from producing 100 Model 3 vehicles in August to 20,000 in December.

Model 3 has the goal of being accessible and easy to use. When it comes to conquests from other automakers, the study shows that Tesla owners are most likely to be current or former BMW owners.

Tesla's fans are confident.

The robots, each costing anywhere between $50k to as much as $500k can manage multiple tasks by switching adapters and moving across multiple axes.

Tesla started taking reservations for the Model 3 in March 2016.

An S-shaped graph revealed their ambition to produce up to 5,000 Model 3s a week by the end of the year and 10,000 a week by the end of next year.

Palo Alto, California-based Tesla is also expanding its network of stores and charging stations to meet anticipated demand.
