The film marks the second collaboration of Basu and Ranbir after "Barfi!". Box Office India predicts that the figures might increase over the weekend and compares Jagga Jasoos's opening collection with Ranbir's 2014 film Roy, which earned Rs 9.39 crore on Day 1. The expectations from Jagga Jasoos are high as well. The film received mixed reviews from the audience and critics. The film was released on 1800 screens in the domestic market and 610 in the overseas market.
