Flynas named 'Best Low Cost Airline in the Middle East'

During a glitzy awards ceremony Tuesday at the Paris Air Show, Qatar Airways was named "Airline of the Year", by the global air transport ratings group, Skytrax.

In addition to its worldwide win, Air Transat was recently voted Best Charter Airline at the 18th annual Agents' Choice Awards, conducted by Canadian Travel Press, Travel Courier and, for the 10th consecutive year.

"This award is a testimony to IndiGo's continued success and the consistent strategy that has defined its unmatched performance, year after year".

Skytrax CEO Edward Plaisted said, "The "World's Best Cabin Crew" award is one of the most prestigious honors in the world of aviation".

Skytrax is a UK-based consultancy that ranks and reviews airlines and airports on its website.

The show has become a regular event during the Paris Air Show, which is held every two years at Le Bourget Airport, and at the Farnborough International Air Show in the United Kingdom.

While it's hard for North American airlines to have as much funds as their Middle Eastern counterparts, Novak says they should work on bettering customer service.

But there is a new No. 1 in the world, as rated by the World Airline Awards that were announced at the Paris Air Show today.

The significance of SKYTRAX awards is backed up by the monitor's independent judging process, excluding external corporate influences altogether.

Efforts by Morocco's flag carrier RAM to offer better services to its customers were rewarded as the company won for the fourth year in a row Africa's best regional airlines award delivered by Skytrax, the world's leading airline and airport rating agency. In February 2016, Garuda Indonesia was recognized as a "Five Star Airline" by Skytrax for the second consecutive year.

Meanwhile, AirAsia X, AirAsia's long-haul sister airline, bagged the World's Best Low-Cost Airline Premium Cabin and World's Best Low-Cost Airline Premium Seat awards for the fifth straight year.

They were also awarded the top honours for the world's best first class lounge, and the best airline in the Middle East.

The world's best airlines ranking for the year 2017 has been announced and Qatar Airways has bee declared the victor, taking the number one spot from Emirates. The fleet includes a mix of Boeing and Airbus planes, including the superjumbo A380, the world's largest airliner.
