The Frenchman's future is clouded in uncertainty after the Gunners failed to qualify for the Champions League for the first time in 21 years, with the levels of discontent among the club's support growing louder as the season progressed.

There has become a consensus among Arsenal fans that Wenger's transfer policies and approach to management has become "outdated" and his days at the club are numbered.

"We were playing in a hostile environment", he said.

"It has been a good season, not just myself but I think the team has come on leaps and bounds", Lallana told the club's website.

"I don't know many that have done that".

Captain Laurent Koscielny is set to be suspended after being sent off after 14 minutes against Everton, while Gabriel Paulista was carried off on a stretcher with a left-knee injury.

"Probably a question for the manager", was the player's response when asked whether he would continue in defence.

"I've gone on record, I would well and truly be in the Wenger camp." he said.

"This season we have improved". "I would not say we're already in because qualification is qualification but we're already looking forward to it".

"When you lose games where you make too many mistakes and drop points unnecessarily, that was a mistake, particularly the games at the end of February and March when we slipped behind and we had to chase".
