More work needed in mental health: Coleman

Milwaukee residents are encouraged to bring awareness to the prevalence of mental health issues and gather more information for the Behavioral Health Division's 2018 budget. "This new investment has the potential to help countless students struggling with their mental health, and we look forward to working with the province to securing greater, more predictable and more sustainable investments in mental health at Ontario colleges and universities".

The month of May is used to help people understand how common it is.

The toolkit is meant to teach and inspire people to take an active role in their mental health and well-being, and to support others. "You are just someone who can not handle life", and, "If that person is mentally ill, they must be violent". Engaging people in conversations about mental illness is important at every stage of recovery. Our brains deserve the same medical care when chronic mental health symptoms occur.

"This announcement shows National has no idea of the seriousness of the mental health crisis, and has no clue how to address it", PSA National Secretary Erin Polaczuk says.

"Mental illness is a sign of weakness". So mark your calendar and join us for an extraordinary event!

The theme is also a call to educate oneself and others about habits and behaviors such as compulsive sex, recreational drug use, obsessive internet use, excessive spending, or disordered exercise patterns that can increase the risk of developing or exacerbating mental illnesses, D.O.H. says. Sometimes a person might respond after knowing you are consistently there for them. All donations will go to the Canadian Mental Health Association.

Labour leader Andrew Little has said improving mental health services will be a priority for the party if in Government after September's election, and a recent report has highlighted problems in services.
